Naza lite with V2 firmware on it, I have a spare so may give it a go, it';s also completely reversible too, so you can go back to the original FW.

Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

Thanks for pointing this out.

With a bit of luck it might bring the price of v2';s down or will they do something to block the mod????

It could signal the death of the Lite.
Quite agree,  or it not having the same hardware - I suspect the common hardware is to do with profitability,  big volumes of the same thing cost less! But if by making things common you loose revenue sometimes it';s better to have individual configurations,  I know that from the experience of this sort of thing at work!

DarkButterfly

I doubt if they will block this hack or the site in which it';s hosted on, but I';ve downloaded just in case they do.

It will likely be tried on the flying table naza lite, as that';s only made of wood and dosent matter if it ditches badly.

I would anticipate a Take Down order once DJI catch wind of this.

Yes, in a way it';s a bit like Apple with mac os - it will install on a pc but would be against the licence regulations so in theory if you';ve done it you are liable to prosecution,  and yes I have done it and couldn';t see any difference between it at the time and an Intel mac box!

At the end of the day they are both DJI products, its not like the hackers are porting the naza FW over to multiwii or APM boards.

I would guess that there is something in the small print saying that it is forbidden to use the V2 firmware on the light hardware - that';s what I would do!

Was it noticeably different Pete?  Of course I';m expecting the answer to be "yes" but coming straight from M Lite to M V2 software must be quite quite an experience.  Or is it not that great a change??  ;)

Just did the upgrade on my small hex, it';s working great.

However....

please please please make sure to remove the props before doing the upgrade, bad things can happen if you don';t, trust me I found out today, luckily no major damage to myself, the room or my hex, well nothing that couldn';t be fixed in 5 mins, 2 props and a motor mount.

I have yet to fly the hex, but if it';s like the massive quad which has a v2 on it, it should be more responsive

It could be one of a few  things.

1) The C++ runtime library is missing or not fully installed on your machine.
2) It is the 32bit C++ runtime and not the 64bit version
3) The executables are in the wrong Program Files directory on the hard disk. I';ve had this with Quest software (Toad to be specific)
If the executables are in Program Files (x86) then either copy or move the entire directory for the DJI software to C:\Program Files and then double-click the executable (EXE) file in there.  Don';t use the link that the DJI installer has placed on your desktop.

Otherwise, perhaps try a full uninstall followed by a full install and select any additional runtimes that may be offered.

You';re not on your own deano I';m getting the same, I';m also running win 7 64bit.
Haven';t had chance to try it on other computers yet.

just tried it in windows 8 64bit and it works fine.
Not sure at the moment what the problem is with win7 64bit.
will investigate

Hi guys,

I have done this to three Lits and they now all fly incredibly well.

I had the runtime error to start with. My solution was to go into control panel, add/remove software and look for runtime C+++ and remove it. Then find the Naza Assistant software and remove these. Turn PC off, not a restart.

Restart the PC and make sure you have DJi assistant 1.0 & 2.20 install files, along with the DJi driver file.

Installing the assistant software installs the correct version of runtime c+++

Then try again. If you get the page open with process started on the bottom, you need too power cycle the Naza while connected. I did this and a third page opened asking me to remove the props and upgrade.

Today took a standard Lite. And as normal, first flight was alittle shaky.
Updated FW on same Lite. This time like V1-2 upgrades, flashing yellow light for approx 45sec-a minute, the green. Power up and there she was rock solid and stable.

Shame I have no more Lites. But have ordered a bucket full of iOSD and PMU2

If you have a Naza, give it a go. In case DJi block the process of have restrictions on the files, they are safely backed up on a server

MERRY CHRISTMAS

jloc

Do you have to upgrade bec/led module or can you still use one that comes with lite once upgraded?

Cheers

A friend did the upgrade yesterday with an original Mk1 Naza M Lite and it works perfectly with the original LED unit.  He says that the difference is an astonishing improvement.

You only need to upgrade the PMU and LED if your going to take advantage of the canbus with IOSD etc...

Got mine to go through the update process at last .
Used an XP laptop and the one thing that helped was a zip file with all files in it .
The Naza Lite V1.0 assistant was a newer ver than I had .
Still had to log in on that ver with the update prog in the back ground and it  went through.
Also reloaded the drivers back in .
