Micro / Mini Copters / Ggt150
« on: September 24, 2017, 20:52:31  »
Ggt150 frame,its 165mm.
F4 v5 aio fc,built in vtx.
Runcam swift 2 cam.
Flysky x6 rx.
Dys race edition 1407 4300.
Tarot 4041 tris props.
Racestar 20a esc.

Cos the frame is 165mm i can just fit the tarot 4" tris, hover tested and little bit of fpv out front where i live, its got punch, could be the fastest wuad on punch i got to date.dys 1407 4300 on 4s with 4" tris is a beast!

Wont be long after you go fpv you will be wanting more power!

Then you will have a new build going, then your journey will begin, you must fullfill your destiny!

Me i kinda goven up on these micro brushless builds because of all the s&@t they give me,if it aint the battery its flipping and if it aint flipping last time my bobo95 full throttled and flew over a 7 storey flat and i cut throttle.thought i would never find it but my goggles picked up the picture and it was found in the car park at the front of said flats,6ft from main road.

I just stick to 150ish upwards now,i know where i am with them,i got quite a bit of micro brushless stuff, might have to offload them.

I know its not helpfull mate but me i kinda chucked in towel and i got enough gear here for 2 micros.150 with emax 1306 is far better fun, specialy on 4s!

A quick cheeky but cheerfull battery to test my new sparrow 145 build, went ok but the tx is black banding so need better fly day to set the frequency/channel to one that dosnt started to rain slightly plus i was on my way to tesco.

Can you not set failsafe in your transmitter/handset?if so do ot there also assuming the rx is failsafe compatable.

Gonna try enabling dshot on my ongoing build without calibrating esc, never tried it before, sounds exciting  :wack0

Newbies / Re: Kiss Fc and BLheli_s Esc's
« on: September 14, 2017, 00:13:04  »
Do the esc have to be dshot compatable?

Newbies / Re: Kiss Fc and BLheli_s Esc's
« on: September 13, 2017, 23:01:01  »
In config i would set the motors to run when armed,as you can guess its so you know they are indeedcrunning or not running,on the subject of arming, set a switch to arm in the modes page, what handset/tx have you got?

Once you build the quad, dont worry too much about direction of motors till its all soldered up,then calibrate esc, then check motor calibrate esc, just hook the fc to cleanflight/betaflight,then go motor tab, test motor tab on,then put motor master slide to max, hook up battery, listen to beeps of esc, when it stops just drop the master slider down, more esc beep confirm calibration.then check the motor direction, set your min throttle, min command and max throttle are set right, keep min around 1000,min command 1000 and max throttle at 2000.theres a better way to set min throttle but only if you need to,more on that later.

« on: September 13, 2017, 20:46:01  »
When the quad is fully built you connect your fc to the computer and calibrate them in the motor tab,so you do it through fc.

Newbies / Re: Kiss Fc and BLheli_s Esc's
« on: September 13, 2017, 19:59:02  »
Should be able to just calibrate them in betaflight/cleanflight,doubt your doing anything special bar normal fpv flying so the fw on them should be identical so just calibrate them in motor tab after you do the build.

Newbies / Re: Wiring Question
« on: September 13, 2017, 17:12:05  »
Yes,yellow wire from runcam to the orange wire on the vtx,you could pop out the metal connectors on each jst connection and then shove the yellow into the orange place on the vtx jst connection.

I fly 150,diatone lizard, spadger,i have a lantian 130 and have just built a 145 geprc sparrow although i got to maiden it yet.all running 3" and different motors, racestar 1407,tornado 1407 and emax 1306,they all run realy fast on dinogy 800 4s.this latest build, geprc sparrow i have fitted tornado 1608,it will run dys 3030 tris!

I build a geprc leopard,195,its got red bottom 2205 and can only run 4" but on some tarot its slow.i dont know if its judt the batteries are tired but i got to try different props or something, maybe batterys need replacing, lots of trouble shooting on that frame.

So if you got any doubts with a small 150ish 3" dont!

If you use a aio fc and good motors they are fast as hell! Take it from someone who runs small 3" set ups.

Quality props  ::)

Suprisingly they actualy are,all my 150 frames i got ran em then i bought some of them tarot tris with the weird bend in them (yep lousy description) and even them tarot props are realy good.the dys are fast and make a right noise, you can see them props on this frame have flown as they are chipped and got bend marks in them  :whistling:

Unfortuanaty cant test fly it as its too windy.

Its the 150 version,or is it 145?

Its a nice frame although it weighs in at £27!

Tornado 1608
Furious racing kombini.
X6 flysky rx.
Racestar 20a esc.
Runcam mini.
Eachine vtx.
Dys 3030 tris.

Test hovered, just got the fpv stuff running so next clear day i get up park and give it a whirl.with them tornado 1608 it should be electric!

How are you liking the Kakute? Are you using the AIO version?

I fly one of the kakute aio,its good fc although when infirst got it the quad kept tumbling out the sky, realised the trims needed setting for the sticks in flys well, its in a diatone 150 frame on 3" props.

Just dredge that reservoir up clayton and then you realise how many people thought it was safe to go back over the water.

Lol no that is the voltage of my mate's goggles battery, not my Vbat.

My next buy will be a DVR or more likely a cam  ::)

Reminds me of vid cinema release!

Does it have dshot,r4s or oomphs at least,if not cherads will not be impressed.

One last question?

Does it have runcam swift with osd?

Newbies / Re: Drone Problem
« on: August 23, 2017, 23:40:19  »
Make sure failsafe is set on the radio set,i assume you got a flysky or similar?

Newbies / Re: Drone Problem
« on: August 23, 2017, 15:19:39  »
Did you calibrate the esc, also, connect your quad to cleanflight/betaflight,hook the battery up,be sure no props are fitted, switch reciever on,go into reciever tab, move the quads sticks and look at the little quad picture/animation on the right, does it flip and tumble?

If it does you need to trim the positions of the sticks in the reciever tab till they are at mid points,or till the animated quad picture stops tumbling.

Newbies / Re: Sorry for the stereotypical first post :)
« on: August 22, 2017, 17:04:44  »
Self build again! You get the knowledge and ability to repair the quad, you get to build to a good spec also,£150 wil get you a nice quad, flysky i6 tx radio is good, frsky x7 might be good for your budget, eachine ev800 goggles are pretty nice for the dosh, quanum cylops a bit bulky and not as good lcd/pic.

Add a strobe light on a rear arm, great if you come down and if its still strobing away, heps to locate it.

Led light for los flying.

Banggood could become your new best friend for the bits.

Personaly? All i have had is nowt bar grief from my micro builds, brushless and brushed,f ing sick and tired if em,so i kinda threw the towel in with em!

Quad - Copters / Re: Diatone GT2, Storm Loki X3 or self build?
