My guess is that they're not selling the quad they were designed for any more and random older generation 16A "pin header" ESC's aren't on many peoples radar at the minute.

I've got a Y6 idea waiting to be built and 16A per motor will be plenty for that...... So I got 12 of the little beggers. If they turn out to be unusable on that it was still less that the cost of a single 4 in one ESC, and I'm sure they'll get used eventually.
A really bad day of flying is still ten times better than a good day at work.

Their max signal speed is 500hz, (that means esc loop speed not higher than that) suggests not 32bit arm processors blheli are currently testing, nor the previous generation (busybee1 and 2 used for blheli_s) nor silabs f390s, the last gen of hardware for blheli before blheli_s, nor silabs f330, the generation before that, but at best the really old atmel chip set, suggesting these are three year old escs at best (three years ago we were starting to run 1khz on naze flight controllers, these escs won't work with that)

You do know they are not reduced by 80% because they are decent escs?

aye but they'll be more than sufficient for putting new designs through test flights and I wont feel so bad about chucking a couple in the bin if they get trashed during testing "whoopsies"

Lumenier butter cutter props, look nice, arrived too late to test at lunch time, but fitted as you can see.
Revs, initial observations without flying, I am very optimistic, clearly though they are not durable, remind me very much of origional hq5x4x3 with regards to durability, expect them to bend and break on crashes and be replacing a lot but if they fly right that's fine with me

Yeah gimme a bit of time to have a play and get some flying in and I'll report back.

Bit of a bummer that Hozza. There is a contact info card in the box, give them a shout, they're good with after-sales usually.

@Horza
Ouch mate, sympathy

Revs - buttercutters, only had time for a few packs but blindingly good, excellent low throttle control, massive speed, amp draw is high because of speed but no worse than rk5051

I still thin they will be durable as polystyrene in a crash but don't care :D

Nice Mr Postie brought me Marty's s/h Stanton TSX200 frame. :)

Of course, I have spent the last 45 minutes completely assembling it and now need to buy the rest of the bits to go on it !

Happy Friday as I think my Lumenier Lux V2 is sat waiting for me to collect from the sorting office. :)

Today I got a Runcam swift 2. I've been using cheap CCD mini FPV cams for ages, So I finally decided to see if something tripple the price is worth the outlay.

On a whim I also got 3 of the Foxeer IR blocked 2.5mm lenses to try in the cheaper cams. Partly to try out IR blocked lenses, But mainly because I'm currently using cams with a range of different FOV's and it's starting to dawn on me that I'll never be able to fly accurately if the first 2 packs when I change quads is spent trying to get used to a different FOV.

Lastly, BangGoods first real feck up with me.
I ordered 2 sets of the Racerstar 2403 motors. I wanted to swap them for the 2205's I've got on a couple of the fleet because I've realised that on some of my quads it's worth sacrificing 40% of the maximum thrust to half the amp draw and double the flight time (Or be able to get away with lower mAh/C rating batterys).
Problem here is that BangGood have only sent ONE full set of the BR2403's. The second "Set" is comprised of 2x CW 2403's, And 2x CCW 2205's (OK. I know they both add up to 9, But I'm not sure it would work myself. :) ).
I've requested that they send out the missing CCW2403's, So we'll see what happens. The few problems I've had with BG before have resulted in parts being resent or partial refunds. As it stands, The 2205's are of no use to me as I'll eventually have the 2 sets of 2205's spare that I'm taking off the quads the 2403's are going on. I wonder if anyone there would be silly enough to offer me a few quid of store credit as an exchange for the 2x half sets of unusable motors? :)
A really bad day of flying is still ten times better than a good day at work.
