What a total SPUD! I have nothing to add.

"they didn't seem concerned" - well, the Royal Navy are sufficiently badass to not give a fig about a Parot drone

And there is a report allegedly quoting the owner/pilot as it being a Phantom 4.

Whilst there are RN Personnel on board, technically she's still a civilian ship until she is commissioned later this year...making the security of the vessel the responsibility of the contractor..BAE Systems!

The pilot is a member of this group: https://www.facebook.com/BlackIsleImages/ but I see they have pulled the video from their pages now.
However NONE of his flights are withing legal guidelines! (IMHO)

This is why we might get these highly restrictive New EASA Drone Regulations in the UK people like this  :banghead:

What he did is currently illegal, so in reality we don't need any new laws.
From what I have read the new proposed laws won't change stupid people doing illegal things.
I agree that the new laws are stupid but we can try to be as polite and friendly to 'the uninformed public" as we can. I know some of the public need educating but we need to be respectful even if they are not.
Happy stress free flying.

From the BBC report "The photographer used a DJI drone similar to this one "  with attached picture of Phantom.

From the Parrot website "Fly your drone up to 1.24 miles away"

From the DJI website "Navigating South-East Asia’s Notorious No Fly Zone" With picture of a drone apparently heading out over a crowded city landscape.

From the DJI website, a Russian photographer "if we're talking about finding a clean street scene with good lighting, and getting the required permits for a shoot, it's challenging. But, since I bought a drone,  my shoots have been taking place in-air without the need for a crew, so I can more easily pull them off.”  Picture above skyscrapers looking vertically down on city streets.

It really does not matter where in the world these images and incitements to action come from, they are all luring people into committing crime in the UK under existing but largely unenforcable law.

The question is, as always, will proposed new laws actually be better enforceable, and we all know the answer to that.
