  • ched999uk: RaceDayQuads have some cheap but good batts out now. Josh B tested and stats say very good especially at price. HobbyRC have 1300mAh 4S just under £20. Not had luck with Turnigy lipos either!!

  • Reman: Just realised that I hadn't gone through my stored Li-Po's for about a month. I try to visually check them every Saturday, And prod the plugs with a multimeter about once a month. Todays seen 12 more bulging packs go out to the incinerator..... All but one was a bloody Turnigy! Part of me wan't to burn the rest now and just get a load more Tattu packs, But I've spent good money on these packs and wan't to at least get a little more use out of them. :(

  • Bad Raven: Pre MR's I used to buy a lot from J.Perkins. Their website showed all items and stock or due date, go to dealer and buy with confidence. Then they went all "lifestyle" and all the site had were pictures or people. I wasn't after people. I never bought again. Yes, you'd think they'd learn...........

  • ched999uk: Reman sounds like amazon search. I find it ok unitil you want to search by price then amazon falls apart.... You would think both companies would get it right...
    July 15, 2018, 16:54:55
  • Reman: It's strange. The original setup they had about 5 or 6 years back wasn't too bad (Except for them occasionally getting accounts hacked), But they changed it to the last one that was clunky and slow, Now they've replaced that with a flashier one that's also clunky and slow ?!?!?! Most companies learn from what they do wrong. I don't buy from HK half as much as I used to, Mainly because it takes forever to trawl through 100 pages of totally unrelated stuff while looking for something you were thinking about getting when you saw it there the previous week !!!

  • hoverfly: I don't think there is a search button on H/King. They updated the site and forgot to  relabel the search button with  Random bo##ocks..

  • Bad Raven: Agree - The Search is abysmal!!
    July 15, 2018, 08:40:52
  • Reman: I see HobbyKing's revamped their site again...... Shame they haven't made the search function work any better, Or worked out why the whole site goes slower than a pensioner in a Nissan Micra. :)

  • Reman: How thick is Google? You buy something online, Then for the next week you get targeted adds for the item you've just got?!?! That's the one item you're NOT going to be buying again at that point so it's wasted effort of there part. :)

You got a nice video going on there, nice location, you seem to be doing a spot of video editing, merging video how do you do this
Thanks ~~ all done through the box standard 'windows live movie maker' on windows 10.
All i do is randomly cut the video removing all the segments you dont want, then theres a clips blend/fade in and out option. I speed up or slow down individual clips if required. I use keepvid.com to download the music i want from youtube (uncopyrighted), save it all for a HD capable playback and thats it !
I'm pretty useless with computers so it just shows how easy it is, that video took me about 15-20mins max . It takes longer to download the vids from sd card to computer and upload when finished (coffee, biscuit comfort break time) ,thats the slow bit probably because its not the fastest computer

Yep, myself and TryingTo managed to get an hour in earlier in the day. The skies were overcast and the lighting not great, but we both hit some good lines and got through about 15 packs between us

Well, I went outdoor....wrong decision.....it was very very damp, windier than forecast, erratic direction, extremely dull, very low cloud, you name it, it was wrong..........  I only ran three packs, and was quite glad to leave.

And I had SO much fun I went again today.

SOME Scrote had sawed the lock off the gate between me locking up yesterday afternoon and this morning.

The pleasures of an Urban location................................. NOT.

Updated my aging pigeon to betaflight 3.2.2 and got a bit of lunchtime tuning in. Still needs some work but overall it flies a little bit smoother :)

Here is a minute of rolling around in the December countryside :)

"Did I fly today"?..... Sort of.

Had stuff to do most of the day, So only got home with time for about an hours worth of buzzing about in the garden. I grabbed my modded Q330 because I wanted to have a play with it's onboard DVR and camera tilt now I finally got it setup...... Then spent the next 15 minutes trying to work out why the ESC's weren't initializing. Everything in Cleanflight looks fine, It arms, But the ESC's aren't fully waking up. "OK, Scratch that, I'm wasting light now"!

Ran back in and grabbed one of the 130's because I wanted to try it with some of the cute little "Tarot 3031 3 Blade props" I'd got this week....... "What the?!? Why can't I find the VTX channel on my screen?!?!" A little digging later I found out the VTX wasn't powering up. "FECK IT!!! I'm going LOS". That lasted about a minute before it became apparent that the Tarot props didn't grab the air like the bullnose DAL's did. I think the most obvious way this failing showed up was in the form of a loud "THUD" sound when I did a forward flip and didn't have enough thrust to catch it before unexpectedly "Landing"........ "FEEEEEEEECK IT !!!! Third time lucky!".

Ran back in and grabbed the next quad I saw (The Diatone 250 "Bitsa"). As it's always done since when I originally threw this thing together, It flew brilliantly. But it was now getting well into twilight and the camera's not really up to those conditions. Flew the rest of the pack and decided to call it a day.

Bloody strange the Q330 not working like that. I'll have to pop the top off it in a bit and check I haven't done something stupid while fitting the camera tilt.......... Don't feel like cooking now, So I think it's time to have a prod at the "Just Eat" app on my phone and see what I fancy. :)
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.

Went out with the intention of flying, but didn't
My phantom didn't want to connect for some reason, first time this has happened to me. Got home and re-conected the quad with tx and no problems.
I was gutted !

Tried to make the most of what I had... less than a minute of bad flight footage. Went all ARTY with it to just make a movie about the lovely woods and the snow.

Looks like the FC freaked out, lost control and buried in the snow. Hooray for LMA and bright tail lights!
