  • Bad Raven: Is the issue Turnigy or Turnigy Nano-Tech? I have found that mid-blue Turnigy tend to be low on their stated "C" discharge rating.
    July 16, 2018, 08:37:09
  • ched999uk: RaceDayQuads have some cheap but good batts out now. Josh B tested and stats say very good especially at price. HobbyRC have 1300mAh 4S just under £20. Not had luck with Turnigy lipos either!!
    July 15, 2018, 22:48:51
  • Reman: Just realised that I hadn't gone through my stored Li-Po's for about a month. I try to visually check them every Saturday, And prod the plugs with a multimeter about once a month. Todays seen 12 more bulging packs go out to the incinerator..... All but one was a bloody Turnigy! Part of me wan't to burn the rest now and just get a load more Tattu packs, But I've spent good money on these packs and wan't to at least get a little more use out of them. :(
    July 15, 2018, 19:54:53
  • Bad Raven: Pre MR's I used to buy a lot from J.Perkins. Their website showed all items and stock or due date, go to dealer and buy with confidence. Then they went all "lifestyle" and all the site had were pictures or people. I wasn't after people. I never bought again. Yes, you'd think they'd learn...........
    July 15, 2018, 17:51:40
  • ched999uk: Reman sounds like amazon search. I find it ok unitil you want to search by price then amazon falls apart.... You would think both companies would get it right...
    July 15, 2018, 16:54:55
  • Reman: It's strange. The original setup they had about 5 or 6 years back wasn't too bad (Except for them occasionally getting accounts hacked), But they changed it to the last one that was clunky and slow, Now they've replaced that with a flashier one that's also clunky and slow ?!?!?! Most companies learn from what they do wrong. I don't buy from HK half as much as I used to, Mainly because it takes forever to trawl through 100 pages of totally unrelated stuff while looking for something you were thinking about getting when you saw it there the previous week !!!
    July 15, 2018, 16:27:21
  • hoverfly: I don't think there is a search button on H/King. They updated the site and forgot to  relabel the search button with  Random bo##ocks..
    July 15, 2018, 09:47:35
  • Bad Raven: Agree - The Search is abysmal!!
    July 15, 2018, 08:40:52
  • Reman: I see HobbyKing's revamped their site again...... Shame they haven't made the search function work any better, Or worked out why the whole site goes slower than a pensioner in a Nissan Micra. :)
    July 15, 2018, 08:28:14
  • Reman: How thick is Google? You buy something online, Then for the next week you get targeted adds for the item you've just got?!?! That's the one item you're NOT going to be buying again at that point so it's wasted effort of there part. :)

Yes! I actually got outside and flew my Air-Ro at last! Ok so it was LOS and in angle mode but considering it is literally the second time ever I'm happy with that

Managed to get down to the motherland this weekend and spent some time flying around an old engine-house and chimney.

It ended with me hitting a lump of granite at full whack and breaking the arm on the Chameleon ... #warrantyclaim!!

Working through the edit at the moment but in the meantime here's a few stills:

🌄🌲🚁💨💨💨🌳🌲☺☺☺ rate hunting in the warm spring evening sun. Love this 3", reckon il throw a #runcam split mini on it. Trying to get my smoothness up, gap shot tighter, and better running flow going! Excited to get flying deeper into spring/summer :)

Managed half a batt on the Chameleon but the vid tx packed up after an  arrival.
Then  two batts through the Air-Ro, practicing   grass cutting and  fighting the wind, every time I got over the tree line it went south. :cry
Not a good field, school with evil spiked railings on one side and a hungry hawthorn thicket on the other. Only  35 MTR between them  :sweating:..

Yes for the first time in 6 months!!!!!! Not a great flight as way too many people and dogs, not that I should have expected an empty beach on this lovely day. So no chance to do fpv just los. Unfortunately I failed to get any footage, not that it would have been interesting at all. Firstly forgot to connect the dvr to my gogges, second dvr in wrong mode! So need to have a look at using the ev100 dvr!!!! Footage would have only been my first baby steps on acro mode  ::) ::) ::).

Was fun though.
A guy came along with a Mavic but before I could go and have a chat he was off. Looked like he had issues doing the 'naza dance'!

Might have to join local club as trying to find a flying field not easy. Emailed local club and they do multi's so going to pop down on beginners night and see what they seem like.

Really good weather, so wobbled over to the field.  Its only taken three days for the muddy track to dry out.
Gave the Mini Vector 250 a sound thrashing.
I was joined by a Buzzard top right pic 1, just under pack volts.
Pic 3  spot the idiot circled..
Shortly after the buzzard disappeared i had a brain fart and flew into a tree , got stung plenty getting it back. :cry :cry

The O.S.D. is built into the Mini Vector, the pic is crap due to a  cheap cruddy vtx. I could probably get it slightly better if  i swap the channels around.

I didnt fly but had my very first proper fpv experience
Normally i fly LOS or use the monitor mounted on my tx
Went and met the local fpv quad group from facebook
One of the guys let me try his fatsharks and watch one of the other guys fly and this is how it went:
Ok i see grass and props...
Oh motors have armed. This should be fun...
Ooookkkk this is boring cruising about...
Oh i can see myself on the ground...
(Punchout) holy crap!!! Im so high up!!!
(High speed acro around tree tops) omg this is crazy
Getting motion sickness

It felt like being a passenger in high speed rollercoaster with no tracks
Cant wait to start flying fpv

Managed to get out again this morning, loving the Air-Ro!

I tried my goggles, ended up upsidedown, took the goggles off expecting to see the quad but it was really far out! Tried the goggles a second time and also ended upsidedown but a bit closer, I really need to work on my FPV!

Put 2 full lipo`s through the Ranger 1600 this morning under the watchful eye of good friend Russell, all went well and the thumbs are starting to know what to do now, had the buddy box set up but did not really need it, handed over a few times more to let Russ have a fly as he is liking the ranger, managed to cartwheel a landing but no harm done, one tough plane, should  have got the 2M ranger with flaps as she is a bugger to land
