If they go for 80J, they are going to have to publish energy transfer factors for various types of UAVs. If memory serves, NPA 2017-05 (B) has a factor of around 50% for a multicopter, so a Mavic would escape. Or maybe it wouldn't as there is another clause which isn't mentioned in that article which requires the registration of operators of "unmanned aircraft the operation of which presents risks to privacy, protection of personal data, security or the environment".

Why is my mind filled with the thought of 30 MP's falling to earth and arguing about the possibility of forming sub committees to look into the idea of appointing a body to research the feasibility of turning gravity off for a bit....... [SPLAT] ?

........ And why do I find this mental image so appealing ? :)
I need a pay rise........ Though I'd settle for a reduction in the amount of hours I need to work to get the same money.
